Well Water Testing
As part of our comprehensive plumbing services, we offer free well water testing. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends you have well water testing done once a year, or more often if there is a sudden, noticeable change in your water quality (taste, smell, appearance).
Even if you currently have the tastiest, cleanest water around, routine testing can be valuable, because it establishes a record of water quality. This record is especially useful if your water quality suddenly changes, or your well is contaminated due to something happening on a nearby property, and you try to recover damages or compensation.
Standard, yearly testing should test for:
- Coliform bacteria
- Total dissolved solids
- pH levels
If you have taste, smell or staining issues, well water testing should also screen for the following:
- Any other suspected contaminates
If your well is located near a farming operation, gas station, buried fuel tank or dry cleaners, you should have additional well water screening done periodically, as well. You may want to check out this well water testing fact sheet for more information.
If the water testing shows contaminants in your water, we can help you address the situation with an assessment of the well casing (if there is sand, dirt or high levels of bacteria in the water) to make sure there aren’t any leaks, and advise you on the various water treatment systems available that may address your particular situation.
Our well services are available to you 7 days a week, without any overtime charges.
